Sunday 7 August
We are entering an exciting time in the church. God is raising up fathers; developing sons not just servants. There’s a change in perspective when we observe life as a son/father. Fathers re called to raise up sons to be future fathers.
Process: servant – son – father. There is a change of attitude and way of thinking as we grow from sons to fathers. Keep moving forward, responding to the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 5:13…. We are the salt of the earth, the light of the world.
Jesus using analogies. We are placed where all can see.
Salt: too much is awful (people over-saved). Yet can enhance life/experience.
We are called to ‘add value’ become value multipliers. The value of our experience comes up and can be seen.
Everything God created is good. Everything about His kingdom is good.
Man created to multiply creation throughout. The theme of multiplication/abundance occurs throughout the Bible. We’re called to take what is in heaven and bring it to earth and then multiply it.
Jesus gave this mandate to the disciples. Go preach the gospel. Add value to God’s creation.
We’re called to add value, not consume it.
Take heed to yourself first, then multiply those around you. Strengthen self in order to strengthen others. Every aspect of life from relationships to business becomes successful when value is added.
It’s all about making lives better. We are called to improve life for people.
Entrepreneurs ask, “How can we add value to people’s lives?”
Develop a God kind of thinking. How can we improve every situation we encounter?
The scribe wanted to follow Jesus so as to obtain personal gain. Jesus responds by telling him he’s not fit for the Kingdom.
Kingdom thinking is characterised by asking how we can take from heaven and use that to improve lives around us. Add value that lasts. Serving the King’s desires not our personal desires, preserving self. Jesus’ message still relevant to people today.
What is our goal for life? How can we add value to what we are doing? This is the Kingdom building process. How can we add value to every part of our life, church, and community?
The outcome will be abundance! John 10: 10
This is a principle, it works in every situation.
NZ has trading mind-set. Accent on increasing personal profile over trying to improve community.
Mentality – how can I use you to improve me!
Don’t be a receiver of value, become an initiator of value. Move from beneficiary to producer.
When you become a son in the house, you look to add value. This enhances your inheritance over time.
Move from sonship to fatherhood by way of investment.
Pray: Lord, I take time every day to consider how I can add value to the lives of those around me.
I am gifted by God to improve the lives of those around me. I see a need and meet it. Amen
